Hi Peeps,
Well, I'm off on another grand adventure! Tomorrow morning I'll be hoping in the RV for a trip to Florida. Going to Florida is nothing new for me, and I've even driven the route before. What's different this time is that I'm going alone.
Well, not exactly alone. I've got my trusty co-pilot:
That's right, my little love, Cricket, will be riding shotgun.
Everyone else is staying home. George has a job, and not one of those work-from-home types. Emily isn't crazy about camping. And Tyler - well, he's got his own apartment now, and is pretty happy about that.
So it's just me. The other thing that's different this time is that I'm staying down there for a while - a month, to be exact. I decided that I can't take another long New England winter, so I'm escaping for a little while.
Several of you have asked me to keep you informed of my travels, so I thought I'd do that here, on my blog. It's easier than calling everyone individually, and less annoying than a big-group text. So this is the place to be.
Here, very loosely, is my plan. Tomorrow I drive from home to Philly. On Wed, I move on to North Carolina, and then South Carolina on Thu. The final leg of the trip takes place on New Year's Day, and lands me at my final destination in Florida.
I intentionally scheduled relatively short days, since I haven't spent much time driving the RV with the car in tow. So I'm shooting for a 6 or 7 hour day, landing in a campsite before dark. I've got a couple of bathroom breaks built in, so that'll let me take a break every 2 or 3 hours.
Check back in here for regular updates. I'm pretty sure there's a Subscribe feature on my blog somewhere, but I can't remember where that is right now. If you find it, let me know and I'll share with the rest of the class.
Feel free to text or call any time, but don't be surprised if I don't answer right away. I'm working hard on ignoring my phone while I'm driving, so I'll get back to you at my next stop.
Thanks for reading - I'm looking forward to sharing my adventures with you!
Kimba
